The unprecedented times that 2020 thrust us into has changed the way we live and operate in our day to day lives. Over the last 12 months we have learnt the importance of creating spaces around us that bring comfort, and now more than ever our home has become our sanctuary.
Many of us now live, work and socialise predominantly in our own homes, so it has become essential that the spaces in our homes provide us with 24/7 liveability and bring a sense of comfort. A lot of us used to just sleep and shower in our spaces, but now we are investing more time and money into making the space we live in a space that feels like a sanctuary from the outside world, and a space that also brings us joy.
The sense of joy is different for everybody but one of the main trends of 2021 is a push towards the use of colour, with a move away from beige and grey and we’ll see more pinks, terracotta, greens and blues. Be adventurous with your space and consider injecting colour, texture, organic materials and a mix of old and new which helps to create layering and warmth for a more grounded aesthetic.
