Llewellyn street was a knock-down/rebuild project for a great client, who wanted to modernise their living style in Merewether. The house orientates itself to the north, maximising natural light, ventilation and integration of outdoor areas in the living spaces. The House prioritises the main living areas and outdoor entertaining areas to the north, while utilises the double garage as a privacy buffer to the south. The courtyard style layout allowed for maximisation of site coverage, blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor living.
With four bedrooms on the second level, the house was large and spacious, providing various areas for communal interaction, but also a private retreat. The house, situated on the corner of Llewellyn and Hall street, takes on the typical modern 20th century architectural aesthetic of newer dwellings in Merewether. The home displays a façade of clean lines, and a carefully refined materials palette that – together with the lifestyle focussed internal layout – creates a sophisticated architectural form.
